No matter how “conscious” your parents may have been, you were born into a pre-existing world that has a lot to say about sex and your sexuality. The second stage of sexual development is all the conditioning you learned about sex. You may have learned that sex is dirty, inappropriate, if you have it then you're a slut and you don’t want to be a slut, you can get pregnant, contract an STD, be sent to hell for pre-marital sex, it’s shameful and you should feel guilty about your desires. 😱
